Rudy and Andi Bauer make a wide range of functional and artistic high fired pottery. While each of the artists has a distinct direction and style to their work, they seldom make repetitious forms other than for production and wholesale orders.
Rudy uses a sgraffito technique for large art form pieces that he learned from master potter and Montana artist, Brian Persha. This technique has been used successfully in shows primarily. Tom Coleman and Eleanor Murphey have been primary mentors for throwing on the wheel.
Andi uses hand building as her main style to build pieces which are impressed skillfully with her wide range of themes made from collected tools and objects. Andi never seems to get time on the wheel and Rudy can’t seem to ever get to use the roller! Good match!
